Risto advises a broad range of clients on mergers and acquisitions as well as general corporate matters. He also acts as an arbitrator in corporate and commercial disputes. In addition, his expertise includes energy, insurance and insolvency law. His practice covers board advisory including distress finance and acting as chair in general meetings of shareholders. In his more than 35 years of practice, Risto has worked on both domestic and cross-border transactions in Europe, Asia and North America.

Andrei specializes in banking and finance. He has broad and extensive experience in acting both for financial institutions as well as for companies and investors in leveraged and structured finance, project finance, acquisition finance, corporate restructuring and ship finance. In addition, Andrei specializes in mergers & acquisitions, corporate law, joint ventures, investments, securities law and corporate commercial. Before joining the firm, Andrei was for several years a partner and head of the financing practice at Borenius Attorneys Ltd where his services covered all aspects of banking and finance. Before that, he was at Nordea Bank for ten years, mainly focusing on leveraged and structured finance as well as ship finance. Andrei has been highly ranked in all major legal rankings for a number of years.

Senior Associate

Laura Hirvijoki specializes in contractual and corporate law related questions. She advises clients also on mergers and acquisitions, in both domestic and cross-border transactions. In addition, she advises clients with data protection related questions, procurement law and maritime law. Before joining I&O Partners, Laura worked in another Helsinki based law firm and in two different large companies as an in-house legal advisor.
